Martinstown Flags and Awards

Kindness Flag

In 2018, our school received the kindness flag at a special ceremony in King Johns Castle. The kindness committee received the flag from the Mayor of Limerick. We were presented the flag for demonstrating a culture of kindness by the school and the students. The Kindness Flag initiative helps students appreciate the value of kindness and the profound positive impact acts of kindness can have on the receiver and the giver.

Amber Flag

Amber Flag

The school received the Amber Flag in 2020. Ms. Butler and the 5th/6th class set up an Amber Flag committee. The committee worked hard to create a positive mental health environment. They organised numerous events throughout the year to fundraise for Pieta House. The Amber Flag is awarded to schools that create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental wellbeing.
